Bio
Hi, I’m Tony Macheak, a technical writer and learning designer who turns complex information into clear, useful content that people can trust. My work has spanned two main domains: Language & Linguistics, and more recently, healthcare and public-sector programs, where clarity and accessibility make a real difference. I’ve developed technical documentation, eLearning, and training resources for national public-health projects, partnering with teams at the CDC and with state and federal agencies to make sure important information is accurate and easy to use.
Before focusing on technical communication, I taught English, Linguistics, and French and spent a year living in France, experiences that deepened my appreciation for how people process and express meaning across cultures and contexts. My lifelong fascination with language still shapes how I write today: every document is a bridge between what people know and what they need to accomplish.
Outside of work, I’m often singing with a local chorus or exploring new corners of Chicago. You can explore some of my sample materials below to see the kind of clear, grounded communication I aim to create.
Thanks for checking out my site!

Technical writing is part detective work, part translation.
